What happened

A study by Data Privacy Brasil and Aláfia Lab found that nearly two-thirds of AI-generated political content during Brazil's 2026 pre-campaign period was not labeled as required by electoral law. Many posts, including deepfakes and disinformation, were shared by anonymous users and political figures, notably Flávio Bolsonaro and the Liberal Party (PL).
